This Birmingham Town Hall Tour: Music, Movements and Iconic Moments gives visitors the chance to see backstage at the city’s oldest events venue.

Stop-offs include seeing the newly installed Blue Plaque commemorating the first ever reading of ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens at the historic venue in 1853. Since then it has welcomed everyone from Suffragettes to Black Sabbath.

It follows the Amplify Town Hall project to preserve its long history for future generations. Director of Birmingham Music Archive, Jez Collins, who led Amplify will speak about the Town Hall’s significant moments alongside some of the Amplify volunteers.

Tickets for the tour cost £9 and include tea and coffee. This event is part of Birmingham Heritage Week.

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
