Illegal e-bikes seized in joint Birmingham Central BID and police operation

The latest Birmingham city centre operation between Central BID’s Business Support team and West Midlands Police led to 12 illegal e-bikes and one e-scooter seized.

It was one of many high-profile joint operations carried out in recent months that is helping to tackle anti-social activities.

This day of action on March 12.had a particular focus around New Street and Ethel Street, where many delivery drivers on e-bikes gather.

More high-visibility patrols and joint operations are planned in coming months and include Birmingham City Council’s Community Safety Intervention Officers.

Central BID’s Business Support team is a reassuring presence in the city centre that aims to make the city centre safe and secure.

They do high visibility patrols, crime-prevention schemes with police officers, oversee the City Safe radio scheme for businesses and liaise with members, reacting quickly to their concerns.
