Award-winning Mexican brand Boojum has announced plans to open a third UK mainland restaurant in Birmingham later this autumn.
Established in 2007 in Belfast, Boojum boasts 18 outlets across the UK and Ireland. The popular eatery has revealed plans to open a 54-cover eatery on New Street, in the former Second Cup Coffee unit, creating 25 local jobs.
Boojum CEO, David Maxwell, said: “We are delighted to see our expansion plans continue apace with the launch of Birmingham. It’s the ideal demographic for us with its eclectic culture, popular retail destinations and of course its fantastic food. We can’t wait to bring our fresh, bold Mexican flavours to the city.”
Boojum prides itself on its high-quality, ‘live out loud food’ and is best renowned for its Burrito Bowl, which is the number six top trending dish globally on Deliveroo and rated number one in all Mexican food on the takeaway platform.
With an emphasis on fresh produce, generous portion sizes and bold, punchy flavours, all at an affordable price, the brand has a cult-like following with over 162,000 social media followers and is a firm favourite of the student community.
Customers can expect a wide range of mouth-watering Mexican dishes including burritos, bowls, nachos, tacos, chips and salsas, all made fresh every day.
Boojum head of operations Rob Powell added: “Boojum Birmingham represents further investment in our rapid UK expansion plans, we have chosen a prime city centre location close to Birmingham Town Hall and the design and fit out to transform it into a bright and vibrant Boojum restaurant will commence shortly.”
When it opens Boojum Birmingham will be the brand’s third UK mainland restaurant in six months. The brand expects to open 25 new eateries over the next five years.
The Birmingham restaurant is due to launch later this autumn. It will offer a multi-channel experience with a loyalty scheme made available on the Boojum app and delivery available on all the major delivery platforms at launch.
