Birmingham Town Hall unveils B:Festive Christmas 2025 and New Year shows

Round-up of all the Christmas shows at Birmingham Town Hall for the festive season into New Year 2026.

B:Music, which runs Birmingham Town Hall at Victoria Square, has a series of festive delights for the run up to Christmas and New Year – and it all kicks off with Wallace and Gromit.

The Cory Band presents Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers on Saturday November 29 at 3pm, getting everyone into the festive mood. The brass band will accompany a screening of the comedy film in the Town Hall.

The B:Festive programme also includes top comedians bringing joy to the Town Hall on December 10 as Taskmaster champion Sam Campbell, Traitors contestant Lucy Beaumont, Tom Rosenthal, and Amy Gledhill perform Live At Christmas at 7.30pm.

More emotive is a reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with renowned Wolf Hall actor Anton Lesser and the Orchestra of the Swan on Monday December 15.

Anton Lesser will be reading A Christmas Carol at Birmingham Town Hall

Birmingham Town Hall was the historic venue where Dickens made his first ever reading of the timeless tale, so the event starring one of Britain’s finest actors will be a moment to treasure. A blue plaque commemorating Dickens’ reading will also be unveiled on the night at the venue.

Anton, who also starred in Game Of Thrones, has read Dickens’ classic for Audible, so he is well versed in delivering a masterful performance.

For an alternative version of Dickens, there’s Count Arthur Strong in A Christmas Carol on December 12 at 8pm as Steve Delaney does his own version of the festive ghost story.

From Rod Campbell, the author of the much-loved children’s book Dear Zoo, comes Dear Santa on December 14. It’s an ideal introduction to theatre for little ones aged one and up. After the show, children will have the chance to meet Santa in his grotto and receive a gift.

James B Partridge will be performing his The Big Christmas Assembly in Birmingham Town Hall
