Birmingham blooming as flower towers return

Central BID’s new summer floral displays are back brightening up Birmingham city centre and here’s a look at the beautiful displays.

You’ll find flower towers dotted around the BID area from High Street and New Street to John Bright Street, Union Street and Navigation Street.

Award-winning Cofton Nursery in Rednal, which has won over 20 gold medals at Chelsea Flower Show throughout its history, supply the flower towers.

The team at Cofton Nursery, in Lickey Road, Rednal, delivered the flower arrangements last week using a tractor.

They arrived at 5am, well before the city centre was bustling with shoppers, commuters and visitors, as shown below.

Work on the displays started at the nursery in early June when they began planting bulbs and nurturing the flowers to reach their prime.

Providing an attractive addition to the summer, Central BID funds the flower towers as one of its five main priorities – keeping central Birmingham clean and green.
