Businesses and drivers are being given advance notice that Birmingham city centre roads will be closed for European Athletics Championships events during a weekend in August.
The Marathon, Race Walk, and Unity Challenge 1K and 5K mass participation events will close roads during Saturday August 15 and Sunday August 16.
Parking restrictions will start from 11.59pm on Friday August 15 throughout Saturday’s events with parking restrictions back in place from 11.59pm on Saturday into Sunday.

Any vehicles left on the event routes after these times may be moved by our relocation system and could receive a penalty charge notice.
Signs explaining the road closures and parking restrictions will be put up along the routes two weeks before the event. The full list of road closures is shown below.

It is the first time the European Athletics Championships will be held in the UK and there is excitement building in Birmingham.
