West Midlands Police’s former inspector overseeing Birmingham city centre – Chris Harrison – has taken on a new role supporting Central BID’s Business Crime Reduction Partnership(BCRP).
As a consultant, Chris brings his expertise from 30 years with the force, which included working on high-profile cases, community projects and training.
Chris, pictured above left with Bryan Edwards who leads Central BID’s BCRP team, works two days a week in the new post.
During that time, he will be out and about meeting businesses in the Central BID area to discuss crime prevention schemes and how to improve the city centre for shoppers and other visitors.
“I’ve a real passion for the city and for partnership working and the strength of what it can achieve,” said Chris.
“There’s fantastic people working in the Central BID team and in the business community. I personally want to contribute in the work going on – to support the retail sector and make Birmingham a safer, more attractive city for visitors.
“I want to help make Birmingham the best it can be.”
