Bookings for KIBOU Birmingham will open tomorrow(Friday September 4) with the countdown for the restaurant’s opening date in Birmingham city centre. A series of soft launches and free sushi taster offers have also been revealed.
The new Japanese restaurant is set to open in Temple Row at the former site of Riva Blu, next to The Ivy.
The official opening date will be Monday October 12, but ahead of its launch, KIBOU Birmingham will open bookings tomorrow(Friday September 4).
Anyone who has signed up for the KIBOU newsletter through its website also has the chance to book for two soft launch dates on October 10 and 11 when there will be 50% off food.

Plus, taking inspiration from the ‘lucky’ number 8 in Japanese culture, KIBOU will be giving away 100 free sushi platters on Temple Row on Tuesday (September 8) between 12.30pm and 2.30pm. Passers-by will be able to get a first taste of what will be on offer.
Platters will feature a selection of handmade nigiri, uramaki and sashimi, not complete without a sushi-lovers’ addition of wasabi and ginger.
The team will also be giving away scan-to-win cards, with customers able to try their luck to win prizes to be redeemed when the restaurant opens, including £50 vouchers, glasses of Sake, Kirin Lager and KIBOU’s best-selling sushi roll, the Volcano Roll, featuring salmon uramaki, dipped in tempura and drizzled with KIBOU special sauce. All entrants will also be entered into a prize draw to win £100 to spend in the restaurant.

The new KIBOU restaurant will be serving up classic and contemporary Japanese sharing plates. From chicken karaage, spiced pork gyoza and crisp tempura to beautifully presented sushi and sashimi, A5 Joshu wagyu beef, steaming ramen, katsu curry, and teriyaki, the restaurant promises an extensive menu with bold flavours.
KIBOU currently has six sites open across England and this new site will accommodate up to 200 covers across a bar and lounge, open sushi kitchen, main restaurant, and private dining space.
A standalone bar will also serve KIBOU’s Japanese-inspired cocktails alongside a curated list of Japanese whisky, sake, and umeshu.
Guests will be able to enjoy bold, colourful, Japanese-inspired interiors, with original hand-painted and digital murals by Gloucestershire-based artist Martyna Sabadasz, evoking the brand’s signature spirit of discovery and adventure.

Gemma Hutchinson, Senior General Manager at KIBOU, said: “We’re so excited to be finally opening our doors in Birmingham. The team is busy putting finishing touches to the restaurant, and we can’t wait to show people what we’ve done with the place.
“We’re very much looking forward to welcoming our first guests through the door in October, whether they’re quick enough to secure a spot on one of our soft launch sittings, or they join us from our official opening date. For now, we hope you enjoy a first taste of KIBOU on Temple Row next week, good luck!”
