Luxury jeweller Mappin & Webb is returning to Birmingham city centre for the first time in 20 years. Its new 7,500 sq ft showroom will open later this year.

The Watches of Switzerland Group, which owns Mappin & Webb, has signed a 10-year lease at The Burlington on New Street with property company Hortons.

The retailer will expand and redevelop its former Watches of Switzerland showroom and two adjoining units into the new Mappin & Webb offering.

The Group also operates the Goldsmiths showroom and Breitling boutique in Birmingham’s Bullring, further reinforcing its commitment to the city’s luxury retail landscape.

Nina Meeks of Hortons said the signing was a strong signal of confidence in Birmingham’s city centre retail market and aligns with a major milestone for the brand.

“Mappin & Webb’s decision to return to Birmingham with a new showroom reflects the strength of the city’s reputation as a destination for luxury retail,” said Nina.
