Birmingham braced for series of new shop openings

Space NK and Aston Villa Football Club shops are among host of new stores preparing to open in Birmingham city centre.

They will both be in Bullring. Space NK is due to launch “in the Summer” while The Aston Villa FC store will open its doors to fans on Thursday May 22.

It will feature everything from exclusive limited-edition release to home, away, and third kits. You can read more about what it will sell here.

Other new openings include a new Phase Eight. The women’s clothing store will be at Grand Central, directly above New Street Station. It will be next to a newly opened Hobbs, that has relocated.

Over in New Street, new Korean food and culture hub Oseyo has just opened in New Street next to Sports Direct.

It’s the UK’s largest Asian retailer and is selling a range of exclusives from Korea. Read more about that here.

Shoppers will have to wait a little longer for UNIQLO.

It has given an update that its new clothing store will open opposite the bull in the former Zara shop in Autumn/Winter.

It won’t be as long for the overhauled Foot Locker in Bullring. Work is underway on making it a “bigger, better and bolder store”.

The upgrade promises to be something Brummies will want to look out for. Signs on the front of the premises, on the ground floor of West Mall, warn Birmingham to “get ready”, as shown above.
