Tea store Bird & Blend has opened its first shop in Birmingham city centre and here’s a first look around.
The loose leaf tea experts can be found in New Street, opposite Apple Store at the former Claire’s shop. It is set to have daily tasters on offer and has a counter at the rear to buy takeaway drinks.
There’s over 100 types of tea blends in beautifully arranged caddies of every colour. They range from black tea to fruit infusions, white tea, oolong, green tea, rooibos and herbal infusions.

And Bird & Blend has created an extra special new tea for Birmingham called the Brummy Custard blend, with a nod to the Bird’s custard factory that was once in Digbeth. It is a green tea with a hint of banana and half the proceeds will be donated to the store’s chosen charity, Birmingham Mind.
Other fun teas include the Strawberry Lemonade blend, which is a refreshing cold tea in the heat, and Cold Weather Warrior featuring echinacea.
While Spearmint Toothpaste is an elevated, pretty mint tea with cloves and blue cornflowers dotted through the leaves.
Dozzy Girl is a gentle chamomile blend while Great British Cuppa and Builder’s Breakfast Brew are strong black tea varieties.
Shoppers can also buy tea infusers, kettles, Ceremonial Pure Grade Matcha, biodegradable teabags and the new trend of Sticky Chai.

Birmingham store manager Nicki Kaur said: “I’ve been so excited to finally open this new Bird & Blend store in Birmingham city centre. It’s in an amazing location.
“I’ve been working at nine of our locations across the country and at every one, someone asks me ‘why aren’t you in Birmingham?’ and now we finally are.
“We’ll have free tastings in store and we can help find a blend that’s right for each person.”

Bird & Blend now has 32 stores nationwide.
Find Bird & Blend Tea Co at 39 New Street, Birmingham city centre, B2 4EG. It is open Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 6pm and Sundays from 11am to 5pm.
