Historic Birmingham pub The Shakespeare has reopened after a refresh and here’s a first look inside.
Owned by Nicholsons Pubs group, the venue in Lower Temple Street was shut and surrounded by scaffolding earlier this month while work took place.
Back open, visitors are welcomed with a revamped bar area and freshened up decor. Original features of stunning tiling still remain.

It maintains the traditional wooden bar of The Shakespeare but adds modern touches, as you can see in these photographs here.
Regulars will be pleased to hear that it is still serving plenty of real ales along with bar snacks and pub food, right next to New Street Station.
There’s been a pub at the site since 1915 and the venue was once called The Shakespeare Tavern.

There’s also plenty of tables and seats to enjoy drinks outside in its terrace area in front of the building.
