Pizza Pilgrims is opening its first pizzeria in Birmingham city centre this autumn and here’s everything you need to know.
The eatery is famous for its Neapolitan style pizzas made with 72-hour double-fermented dough and even does a Carbonara pizza made with spaghetti and a sublime eight cheese pizza.
Based in Grand Central, the new Pizza Pilgrims restaurant will be above New Street Station, and open its doors on Monday November 3. Artist’s impressions have been released and show below what diners can expect.
Founders Thom and James Elliot are behind Pizza Pilgrims and the latest 114-seater restaurant at a 195m² site in Birmingham, billed as having stylish interiors that take diners to the Italian streets of Napoli.
To remain authentic, it even uses Italian sourced ingredients from ‘00’ flour from the Caputo mill, DOP San Marzano tomatoes and Campanian Fior di Latte mozzarella.

Popular Double Pepperoni and Spicy Honey
The Amalfi Coast pizza with Cetaran DOP anchovies, Piennolo tomatoes, Fior di Latte mozzarella, olives, capers, and basil
Eight Cheese Pizza
Principessa pizza with Prosciutto di Parma DOP, Piennolo di Vesuvio DOP tomatoes, 24-month Parmigiano-Reggiano DOP, Mozzarella di Bufala DOP, and extra virgin olive oil
Burrata & Pesto pizza topped with creamy Puglian burrata, Genovese basil pesto, and sweet Piennolo tomatoes.
General Manager Danny Johnson will lead the restaurant that is creating 25 jobs both back and front of house.
